Making today a vacation day because we were going to spend it getting my wife a set of dentures down south of us. Didn't quite work out the way I wanted it too but that is ok. Life is lived one day at a time and we ran into some problems we didn't anticipate. Thursday we will be fine and get those dentures.
My only irritation is that our local dentist went through $2000 insurance money plus a lot of my change to "fix" my wife's mouth. Her upper teeth rotted out and her partial no longer works. Now I have the privilege to fork over $900 bucks to this "cheap" place so she can have dentures made. Thank God I have a job. My sister lost hers as her company went belly up.
As in all vacation days something interesting happened today. On our way to the commissary to buy some things "we" forgot to get, I stopped by Mr Beasley's as I noticed that he and his wife were in the sitting area of their screened-in porch. Now my wife loves to buy tomatoes from Mr Beasley and I love my wife. So we stopped by and were drinking some sweet tea with them when all of a sudden....high wind....hard rain...hailstones and we went inside and closed windows and sat down for a few more social minutes to enjoy each other's company while we waited out the rain shower. Now I have never seen it rain that hard and so fast. I have been through a mild hurricane but this just came upon us. When we left a few minutes later, mature trees were downed or broke in half and the leaves on my car were torn into bits and the destruction was just in maybe a 5 block square. So thank you God for protecting us again so that we can continue on this journey and attempt to be a light in the darkness.
